Red Shiny Happy People

On Red Nose Day my students decided they wanted to raise money by apply some glam/crazy/over the top makeup. Everybody who knows me knows that this is normal look for me in everyday life! So I came up with a glitter bug makeup creation.

Glittery can be a bit of pain to apply however when done can look amazing, especial on a night out.
So to create this look I used the fabulous Paris Berlin Glitter pots, you can buy their stuff at http://www.parisberlin.com/
I got these when I went to London IMATs 2 years ago, I went a little over the top with spending and just had to get 5 different colours.....

Now the good thing about this glitter appose to other glitters on the market is that one it really does bling bling shine in the light and two the partials are small therefore it doesn't irritate or scratch your eye like others can. The colours are beautiful as well, they are so rich and the silver one second from the end has like a rainbow style glitter reflection, its amazing!

The best way I know of applying glitter to the eye lids is using Duo glue, sparingly! This application will last you all day! Use a cotton bud to roll it on the desired area you want to (make sure you keep your eye closed throughout application or else comedy sketch will unfold!) Obviously you will get drop down and glitter on your face, to remove this just get some sellotape and wrap it around your hand, get some of the sticky out and use it to stick the glitter off your face.
Make sure that you do all the eye shadow colours before you apply the glitter.

And there you have it! Glitter bug makeup!

I have another announcement also, I shall be attending another Vintage fair with the fabulous Manchester Vintage: Join the Revolution on the 7th April. I'll be working along side the wonderful photographer Jenny Martin and once again offering special offer makeovers with every photo shoot booked. Lady Wildflower will also be performing her burlesque routine which is fabulously wonderful (she has the massive feather fans! Its so much fun!!) As well as many more stalls selling clothes, accessories and home ware...Come join us!!

Hope to see you guys there!

Manchester Vintage Fair Review from 3rd March

"Ramsbottom needs vintage" event went amazing well last Sunday. Oh my word it was busy, I hardly had time to sit down. According to the lovely organisers we had 778 people at the event!! Crazy days people!
I did both hair and makeup on the models for the vintage fashion show that took place at the event and worked along side the very fabulously talented Jenny Martin Photographer (check out her website for more images of the event or book her for your event, (http://jennymartinphotography.co.uk/) Which was perfect for me and my clients!

The whole event was great, and I even got to watch the lovely burlesque act from Lady Wildflower which inspired quiet a few to come and ask me to make them look like a burlesque beauty...which I love doing!!

Below are a few photographs taken by Jenny Martin, hair and makeup by moi and styling/costume by various stall holders from the event.

This lovely lady has my pin up Mohawk hairstyle teamed with blue smoky eyes for that add pin up glamour.

Love doing this look, its my vintage vixen curls...isn't she just a doll!

As soon as I met this lady and saw what she would be wearing I knew I had to make her look like a "bomb girl", that classic vintage war style.

Soooooo many people and look how big my head looks....it was the victory rolls honest!!! HA

It was so lovely to meet some of you there and talk to you about booking me for weddings/events/etc and registering with my media makeup course at Blackburn College. Anyone who didn't attend and is interested in enrolling to Blackburn Colleges Media Makeup Course email me here or on my facebook page.
Anyone interested in having a stall at the next event message me and I'll pass on your detail to the organisers.

The event will be held hopefully once every month and the next event will be held in April. More detail will follow as soon as I get them. If you didn't come to the first event then you must get yourselves to next one...

More photos to follow, check out my facebook page for more updates!

DIY pregnancy belly SFX

This is a quick blog about what I've been up to today...so random thing to do but I have been asked by one of my students how do you make a pregnancy belly prosthetic...so that's what I been trying to create all day today. And it has been quiet a challenge...surprise surprise it is quiet difficult.

To make a pregnancy belly you need:

a bowl

Liquid latex.

Stuffing from a cushion

And a whole load of patience!

Its all about layering the latex in the bowl to create the skin and then stuffing it in the shapes of a belly. Like so....

It kind of looks like a pregnant cushion belly...

Add this with some Pro Aid, glue to the model and boom its baby in the belly...

What will my fella say!!!
